Martin's Profile

Following an early career in the U.K. armed forces, Martin was attracted to the IT sector during the early years of PC computing, which is where he gained an early understanding of the first generation of PC and mini-computer hardware and software systems together with their human and technology support needs – a foundation that has always remained relevant to this day.

Applying his IT expertise, Martin moved into insurance broking software and then document management businesses where he moved from support roles through to development and subsequently pre-sales & consulting. Working with both commercial organisations as well as government departments –  both local and central, Martin headed a team that generated multiple millions of pounds revenue per annum.

At the turn of the century he became a founding director of a Web 1.0 startup, attracting millions of pounds in funding as a consequence of creating an automotive and lead generation portal during the early era of “rip off Britain”.

This was quickly followed by an even more bold career and business progression to become a founding director of a specialist vehicle hire and motor insurance accident management firm. This was an extremely high growth and exciting time, growing from a handful of people at start up, to a thousand people as a nationwide and well-known company. UK The firm subsequently went public achieving a FTSE full listing and earning twenty times (20)  initial share price. Martin has much hands on experience with the IPO process, from the perspective of the transitioned client organisation.

Latterly he was the creator of a technology subsidiary that implemented next generation vehicle IoT equipment and software that provided its fleet and vehicle hire customers with cost reductions of up to 30% and much improved human efficiencies and management control.

Amongst his hobbies during down time, Martins continues to investigate the merits of blockchain for commercial applications, has a passionate interest in the development of IoT for improved quality of life, and manages to squeeze in some personal property development projects with his wife. A busy Life indeed.
